What to expect, step by step
Nervous about your first CrossFit class? That is completely normal, and completely unnecessary at O-SEA. Here is exactly what happens.
Before you arrive
Your first step is a free consultation, not a cold jump into a class. We get to know your goals and experience, bring you through our on-ramp if you are new, and make sure your first class is one you are ready for.
When you walk in
A coach greets you, shows you around, and introduces you to a few members. You will never be left standing awkwardly in a corner. The welcome is the whole point.
The warm-up and the teaching
Class begins with a coach-led warm-up, then instruction on the movements of the day. Your coach demonstrates, explains, and scales each one to your level, so you know exactly what to do and how to do it safely.
The workout
Then you train, with your coach watching, encouraging, and adjusting as needed. You go at your pace and your level. When the clock stops, you will understand why people get hooked on this.
After class
You cool down, the community says hi, and your coach checks in on how it felt. Most people leave their first class already planning their next one.
First-class questions
What should I bring?
Comfortable workout clothes, training shoes, and water. That is it.
How early should I arrive?
Arrive about ten to fifteen minutes early so your coach can welcome you, show you around, and get you set up without rushing.
Will the workout be too hard?
No. Your coach scales the workout to you. You will be challenged at the right level, not thrown into something beyond you.
What if I cannot do a movement?
That is normal and expected. Your coach gives you a scaled version of every movement so you can do the workout safely and effectively.
